Die schwedischen Kollegen haben sich das Xperia X1 von Sony Ericsson vorgenommen. Dabei kommen sie zu einem ernüchternden Fazit:
On the whole, the Xperia X1 is an impressive phone, and together with the HTC Touch Pro it’s probably the best Windows Mobile-based smartphone so far. The cons here are its annoying slowness and the fact that Sony Ericsson in some cases have taken the easy route with the existing Windows features instead of implementing their own, superior ones for the platform.
Tja, wieder mal keine Gefahr für “unser” Apple-Telefon. Ich bin ja gespannt, ob ich jemals ein Windows-Mobile-Handy zu sehen bekomme, das so snappy reagiert wie ein iPhone.

Am kommenden Dienstag 19 Uhr MESZ startet Apples Special Event in SF. Neben neuen iPod (welchen auch immer) wird es dort wohl die Version 2.1 der iPhone-Software — mit geheimnisvollen neuen Funktionen!! — und iTunes 8 mit kleineren Verbesserungen geben. Das berichten übereinstimmend “ars technica” und viele, die dort abschreiben.
Neue iPods also nächste Woche. Ein touch-Update erscheint wahrscheinlich, ebenso wie iTunes 8. Schaun wir mal (ich hab Urlaub vom 8. bis 12. und bin teilweise unterwegs, nur schon mal als Vorwarnung)…
Foxconn, the Taiwanese electronics giant that produces the iPhone 3G for Apple, has ramped up production to 800,000 units per week, says a source close to Apple with direct knowledge of the numbers. This is “above current full capacity” and there may be some concerns with quality control.
Und bei “TechCrunchIT” steht zu lesen, dass Apple in den Staaten den Exklusivvertrag mit AT&T bis 2010 verlängert hat.
Developers we spoke to have several problems with the App Store — the only place where you can buy applications for the iPhone and iPod touch. First, it’s been taking a long time for updates submitted to Apple to get pushed to the public. Second, Apple isn’t communicating with developers about when applications will be pushed live. Finally, Apple is not providing any sales information, so developers have no idea how their apps are doing.
